Marketing Director

Job Type: Permanent

Location: United States

Work Location: Remote, East Coast, United States

Salary: $125,000 – $150,000

Overview

We’re partnering with an independent, culture-led creative agency seeking a Marketing Director to shape how the business presents itself to the world.

The agency already has a strong body of creative work, a distinctive point of view and an established reputation. This person will build on those foundations, developing the agency as a brand that extends beyond its client work through content, events, partnerships, merchandise, experiences and community.

This is a broad, hands-on position for a brand-minded marketer with strong taste, cultural curiosity and the ability to turn ideas into reality. You’ll be equally comfortable developing a marketing strategy, building a content calendar, identifying a potential creative partnership and delivering a physical brand experience or merchandise launch.

Working closely with the agency’s leadership and wider marketing team, you’ll become the central point of ownership for its brand, voice and cultural presence.

What You’ll Do

  • Help shape and evolve the agency’s brand presence as a creative studio with a distinct voice, visual identity and cultural point of view.
  • Translate the agency’s work, thinking and leadership perspective into marketing activity that builds visibility, reputation, community and business impact.
  • Protect and develop the brand aesthetic across all touchpoints including content, digital channels, events, partnerships, merchandise and experiences.
  • Identify and activate opportunities for cultural engagement, creative partnerships and broader brand-building initiatives.
  • Work closely with leadership and the wider marketing team to align studio-level activity with wider business and marketing objectives.
  • Develop and deliver brand experiences beyond client work, including events, gatherings, partnerships, merchandise, editorial ideas and cultural programming.
  • Lead merchandise projects end-to-end, from concept through to production and launch, ensuring outputs feel considered, desirable and on-brand.
  • Support the planning and delivery of studio events and experiences, ensuring they are creatively led and culturally relevant.
  • Create and manage content across social, digital and emerging platforms, building a consistent pipeline that reflects the agency’s work, people and perspective.
  • Surface and shape stories from across the studio, including creative work, process, culture and behind-the-scenes activity.
  • Collaborate on thought leadership that strengthens the agency’s position within the creative industry.
  • Monitor content performance and provide regular insights and recommendations.
  • Curate and maintain the agency’s website and wider digital presence with a strong visual and experiential point of view.
  • Manage media requests, speaking opportunities, sponsorships, awards and external collaborations.
  • Proactively identify external opportunities aligned to the agency’s positioning and ambitions.
  • Support new business activity by developing case studies and marketing materials that clearly communicate the agency’s value and creative output.
  • Maintain an organised library of visual assets and case study content to support growth and pitches.

What You’ll Bring

  • At least six years of experience across marketing, brand, communications, content, partnerships, experiential, merchandise or a related creative field.
  • A strong creative point of view, excellent taste and a developed visual eye.
  • An understanding of what makes a brand feel culturally relevant rather than simply professionally marketed.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills.
  • Experience creating content across social, digital, editorial and experiential channels.
  • Experience supporting or managing merchandise, product drops, branded goods, retail-adjacent programmes or other physical brand extensions.
  • Confidence managing vendors, budgets, timelines, samples, approvals, inventory considerations and launch coordination.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several interconnected initiatives.
  • Light design capabilities and the confidence to brief and direct creative collaborators.
  • The judgement required to protect a distinctive brand aesthetic across multiple touchpoints.
  • Proficiency in Canva.

Bonus Experience

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience using HubSpot or a similar marketing platform.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, digital asset management tools and project management platforms.
  • Experience working within a creative, design or experiential agency.
  • An established network across creative, cultural, media or partnership communities.
