Junior Product Designer, Hybrid, FTC: Up to £43k
We are looking for a Junior Product Designer to join a fabulous client in finanical services. The team is made up of insight, service, and product designers. The team works across multiple business areas to deliver engaging, human-centred digital experiences for customers, partners, and colleagues.
In this role, you’ll support the design of intuitive digital products that balance user needs with business and technical requirements. It’s a growth-focused opportunity, ideal for someone keen to learn, experiment, and develop their design craft in a supportive, collaborative environment.
You’ll work closely with experienced designers, developers, and stakeholders, gaining hands-on exposure to the full end-to-end product design lifecycle while contributing to real, live digital products.
What you’ll be doing:
- Contribute to the creation of user-centred digital products across web and mobile platforms.
- Develop wireframes, high- and low-fidelity designs, and interactive prototypes.
- Apply design thinking and user-centred design methods to reimagine existing processes and touchpoints.
- Translate complex technical requirements into simple, intuitive user experiences.
- Support the creation of service concepts and service blueprints that span multiple channels.
Research & Collaboration
- Support exploratory and evaluative user research activities.
- Take part in co-design workshops with stakeholders to gather insights and validate design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with designers, developers, product managers, and third-party suppliers.
- Assist with design handover to development, ensuring quality and alignment with design intent.
Design Systems & Standards
- Contribute to the adoption and evolution of the organisation’s design system.
- Help maintain accessibility, usability, and design standards across digital channels.
- Support quality assurance of designs delivered by internal teams and external partners.
Essential
- Demonstrable experience designing digital products, either through professional work, placements, or a strong portfolio.
- Confidence creating concepts, wireframes, visual designs, and interactive prototypes.
- Experience using design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe CC, Principle, and Miro.
- Understanding of user-centred design methods and frameworks (e.g. Design Thinking, design sprints, WCAG).
